Publishing your content on your own website is one of the fastest ways to build credibility, improve search visibility, and create a shareable portfolio for recruiters and hiring managers. If you also share each post on LinkedIn, you can increase reach while driving readers back to your website.
Choose Your Content Format First
Start by choosing one of two formats:
- Blog post — best for searchable, evergreen topics that can rank over time.
- Newsletter-style post — shorter updates published regularly; great for consistency and audience trust.
If you are unsure, publish a standard blog post first and keep a repeatable structure you can reuse as a newsletter-style post later.
Build the Article Page
Create a new blog page from an existing blog-*.html template, then update:
- Page title and meta description
- Open Graph title, description, and URL
- Canonical URL
- Article headline and body content
This keeps SEO metadata aligned so LinkedIn previews and search engines both display the right content.
Add the Post to Blog Index and Sitemap
After creating the article file, add a new card to your main Blog page so visitors can discover it. Then add the same page URL to your sitemap so search engines can crawl it quickly.
Quick tip: Use a clear, keyword-friendly slug such as blog-publish-and-share-your-tech-blog-on-linkedin.html. Descriptive URLs are easier to share and help search relevance.
Share the Live Link on LinkedIn
Once the page is live, copy the full URL and create a LinkedIn post with three parts:
- Hook: one sentence about the main problem your article solves.
- Value: 2–3 bullet points on what readers will learn.
- CTA: invite people to read and share the article.
Post the direct article URL in the LinkedIn update so traffic flows back to your site instead of a third-party platform.
Stay Consistent With a Simple Publishing Rhythm
Pick a realistic cadence you can sustain (for example, one article every two weeks). Consistency is more important than volume. Over time, each article becomes another portfolio asset you can reference in interviews, resumes, and LinkedIn.
When you are ready for your next topic, repeat the same workflow: create page, add blog card, update sitemap, publish, then share on LinkedIn.
